Inflamación orbitaria: perspectiva radio-oftalmológica con MRI-DWI para aislar la señal diagnóstica del ruido inespecífico

La inflamación orbitaria engloba un espectro de entidades entre ellas el seudotumor orbitario idiopático que cursan con proptosis, dolor ocular, edema palpebral y déficit visual. Su solapamiento clínico-radiológico con procesos neoplásicos, como el linfoma orbitario, y con infecciones motiva biopsias invasivas frecuentes. La evidencia indica que integrar la resonancia magnética, en especial la difusión (DWI), con los hallazgos clínicos ofrece una vía no invasiva fiable para el diagnóstico diferencial.
