Epistemología y memoria: premios a la excelencia docente en psicología otorgados por la American Psychological Association

Resumen

Las bases para la comunicación académica de la American Psychological Association (APA) constituyen una epistemología, pues integran valores científicos y una manera de construir y validar el conocimiento. La imagen que la APA genera de sí misma consolida su dimensión epistémica y su memoria colectiva; los reconocimientos que otorga a académicos por su labor docente son un ejemplo. El objetivo fue analizar dicha situación. Se realizó una investigación documental en los archivos digitales de la revista American Psychologist. El método fue un análisis temático, y se revelaron tres temas: contextos formativos, prácticas de enseñanza e impactos estudiantiles. Los hallazgos informan sobre la epistemología implícita en los reconocimientos a la enseñanza, mostrando un posicionamiento favorable al conocimiento empírico y aplicado. La implicación de este escrito es el entendimiento de la APA como un organismo que regula el conocimiento científico tanto de forma directa como en sus prácticas.
